A Paperless Post alternative for gifts, not guest lists

Paperless Post is built for events: a beautiful invitation sent to a guest list, with the RSVPs, reminders and messages to go with it. It is very good at that, and if you are planning a wedding for two hundred people it is probably what you want.

RAYXIS Gifts — ours — is built for the other half of what people send: a gift for one person. Not a card they read, but something they open and play with — a pop-up card their own friends stand up in, five boxes to unwrap, a room built for their birthday that they look around by moving the phone.

Everything said here about Paperless Post was read from their own pages on 28 October 2026. Where their pages don't say, this page says so rather than guessing. Something wrong or changed? Tell us and we'll correct it.

What Paperless Post does well

Hosting. Their pages describe tracking responses, asking guests custom questions, messaging guests individually or as a group, reminders, a co-host, and a shareable event link — the whole job of running a guest list. You can schedule an invitation to go out later by email or text, add your own photos, or upload your own design.

The pricing is per event: designs marked free are free to send, and premium designs and extras are paid in Coins, their own credits, multiplied by the number of recipients. Their pricing page's example is 5 Coins per recipient to 40 guests, 200 Coins in all; 3 Coins were shown at $1.44. A Paperless Pro subscription is priced by annual guest count — $250 a year for 250 guests in their example.

Pick Paperless Post when you're inviting a group and need RSVPs, reminders and a guest list, or you want matching printed invitations. We don't do any of that.

What we do differently

The thing that arrives is the gift itself, made for one person. A pop-up birthday card that opens like a paper one, with the people from your photo cut out and standing up inside. Five boxes, each hidden in the last. A photo album they turn page by page. A date invite whose "no" button runs away — and their answers come back to you.

And the ones nothing in the invitation world does: 360° rooms. A Birthday Room with their name in neon and your photos on the wall; a Love Room they light up by finding four hearts; Christmas Eve inside a snow globe. They look around by moving the phone.

Most designs are free, with no account on either side and no ads. Premium is a pack of credits that never expire — one credit, one premium gift — not a charge per recipient, because there is only ever one recipient. A free gift stays online for 10 days, a premium one for 90.

Pick us when it's for one person and you want them to open something, not RSVP to it.

What we don't do: guest lists, RSVPs, sending to many people at once, printed invitations, or scheduled sending. If you need any of those, Paperless Post will serve you better.

What you can send instead of a card

Every one has a free demo — open it and see what they'd get. The 360° rooms are looked around by moving the phone.

Questions people ask

Is there a free alternative to Paperless Post?
For a gift to one person, yes: most designs on RAYXIS Gifts are free, with no account needed to make or open one. Paperless Post also has free designs; its premium designs cost Coins per recipient. For a guest list with RSVPs, Paperless Post is the better tool.
Can I make a free online wedding invitation without Paperless Post?
Yes. RAYXIS Gifts has two wedding invitation templates, both free, with a live countdown to the day and an add-to-calendar button, sent as one link you share yourself. They don't collect RSVPs or manage a guest list — Paperless Post does.
What's the difference between a digital card and an interactive gift?
A card is read: a design and a message. An interactive gift is opened: a pop-up card the recipient drags open, boxes they unwrap one inside another, a 360° room they look around by moving their phone, with your message at the end. RAYXIS Gifts makes the second kind.
Does RAYXIS Gifts charge per recipient like Paperless Post Coins?
No. A gift goes to one person, so there's nothing per recipient. Most designs are free; premium ones use one credit each, from packs bought once that never expire. There's no subscription.

The honest way to judge it is to open one. Every design has a free demo, with no sign-in and nothing to install.
