A free alternative to Jacquie Lawson ecards

Jacquie Lawson's ecards are works of art: hand-painted, animated, set to music composed for each card, and sent by members who pay a yearly fee to send as many as they like. Plenty of people have sent them for twenty years, and they have good reason to.

RAYXIS Gifts — ours — comes at the same moment from the other side. Most designs are free, with no membership and no account, and instead of a beautiful card that's the same for everyone, the gift is made of your things: their name, your photos, your words — a pop-up card your family stands up in, or a whole room built for their birthday.

Everything said here about Jacquie Lawson was read from their own pages on 28 October 2026. Where their pages don't say, this page says so rather than guessing. Something wrong or changed? Tell us and we'll correct it.

What Jacquie Lawson does well

Craft. Their pages describe artwork prepared by hand with paint, paper and pencils before it's animated, music composed or arranged for each card, and a team of artists, animators and musicians spending weeks on every one. Many cards carry a game or a puzzle, and the site has been sending them since 2002. It's advertisement-free, with an address book and birthday reminders for members.

It's paid for by membership: $8 a month, $36 a year or $50 for two years in US dollars (£6, £27 and £37 in pounds), as shown on their pricing page, with a bundle that adds Blue Mountain. Members send as many cards as they like for as long as the membership lasts. Without one, their FAQ says you can send a limited selection of a few cards for free in their app — not on the website.

Pick Jacquie Lawson when you love painted artwork and classical music, you send cards to many people through the year, or you want their annual advent calendar.

What we do differently

Our gifts are made of the person they're for. The pop-up birthday card cuts the people out of your photo and stands them up inside the card as it opens. The photo album is your pictures, page by page. The nested boxes end with a teddy holding your own letter.

Then the 360° rooms, which nothing else does: a Birthday Room with their name in neon, their age in gold balloons and your photos framed on the wall; Diwali Night, a street of diyas where a teddy's rocket writes their name across the sky; Christmas Eve, a snow globe they fall into. They look around by moving the phone.

Most designs are free on the website, with no membership, no account and no ads. Premium is a pack of credits bought once — nothing renews — and a free gift stays online for 10 days, a premium one for 90.

Pick us when you want it free without joining anything, or you want their name and your photos inside the gift rather than a card that's the same for everyone.

What we don't do: hand-painted artwork, an orchestral score, an address book with birthday reminders, or an advent calendar. If those are what you love, Jacquie Lawson will serve you better.

What you can send instead of an ecard

Every one has a free demo — open it and see what they'd get. The 360° rooms are looked around by moving the phone.
