A free alternative to American Greetings ecards
American Greetings has one of the biggest ecard libraries there is — celebrity SmashUps, singing cards, cards you personalise with names and ages, printable cards — and members send as many as they like. Membership is paid, after a free trial.
RAYXIS Gifts — ours — is the other kind of thing: most designs are free, with no membership and no account. Instead of a card from a library, the gift is built around them: their name in neon, your photos on the wall, the people from your photo standing up inside a pop-up card.
Everything said here about American Greetings was read from their own pages on 28 October 2026. Where their pages don't say, this page says so rather than guessing. Something wrong or changed? Tell us and we'll correct it.
The short version
- Want a huge library, celebrity SmashUps and printable cards, and you send a lot? An American Greetings membership is built for that.
- Want something free without a trial that turns into a subscription? Most of our designs.
- Want a gift they open and explore — a 360° room, a pop-up card — rather than a card they watch? That's what we make.
- Want reminders and cards scheduled a year ahead? American Greetings — we don't schedule.

What American Greetings does well
Range. Their pages list birthday, holiday and everyday ecards by recipient and tone, celebrity SmashUps you personalise with a name and age, songs, games and quizzes, printable Creatacards, an AI message helper, reminders for important dates, and cards scheduled up to a year ahead. Members send an unlimited number.
Membership is $7.99 a month, $35.99 a year or $49.99 for two years, as their membership FAQ showed it, with taxes possibly extra. New members get a 7-day free trial, memberships renew automatically, and their FAQ says you can also register for an account to send free cards.
Pick American Greetings when you send cards all year to lots of people, love the celebrity and song cards, or want reminders and scheduled sending.
What we do differently
The gift is built around the person, not picked from a shelf. The pop-up birthday card cuts the people out of your photo and stands them up inside the card as it opens. The balloon game gives them one balloon to pop for every year they're turning, then a cake with your message. The nested boxes end with a teddy holding your letter.
And 360° rooms they stand inside: a Birthday Room with their name in neon, their age in gold balloons and your photos framed on the wall; a Love Room they light up heart by heart. They look around by moving the phone.
Most designs are free, with no membership, no account and no ads. Premium is a pack of credits bought once — nothing renews. A free gift stays online for 10 days, a premium one for 90.
Pick us when you want it free without starting a trial, or you want the gift to be about them — their name, your photos — rather than a card from a catalogue.
What we don't do: celebrity or song cards, printable cards, birthday reminders or scheduled sending. If those matter, American Greetings will serve you better.
What you can send instead of an ecard
Every one has a free demo — open it and see what they'd get. The 360° rooms are looked around by moving the phone.
